More CNY Branch Honors

CNY Branch President Janine DeBaise was honored by the William Faulkner/William Wisdom Creative Writing Awards for her essay "What to Pack in a Hospital Bag." Her essay was the runner-up to the eventual winner in the nation-wide competition. Although the competition was slated for 2021, COVID and other factors contributed to a delay in announcing the long-awaited results.

Karen Hempson, Branch Secretary, had her essay "Synchronicity" recognized by the Faulkner competition as a short-list finalist.

Nancy Dafoe's poem "Ahway, Water's Voice" won first place in the New York State Fair 2023 poetry competition in the New York themed category. Her poem also received the award for "Best in Show" in the writing competition.
