Plethora of CNY Branch Winners in the 2024 Biennial Letters Competition
Members of the CNY Branch of the NLAPW had a host of winners in the 2024 Biennial Letters competition. A listing of all the CNY Branch winning members follows:
Rachel Dickinson won first place for her memoir The Loneliest Places.
Nancy Dafoe won second place in the memoir category for her excerpt from Unstuck in Time. Dafoe won first place for her prose work "Journeying Up the Tioughnioga" in the Norman and Marjorie Roller category and won first place for her prose piece "Sudden Turn of Events" in the Ann T. Davis Ekphrastic Award category.
Lisa Harris won first place for her poem "Outside" and third place for "Amachol" in the Grace K. Wofford Essay category.
Mary Gardner won second place for her poem "Solo" in the Marion Doyle category and third place for "The Gift" in the Davis Ekphrastic category.
Janet Fagal won first place in the Della Crowder Miller poetry category for "Beach Music."
Stacey Murphy won second place in the Sandra Seaton Michel Middle School category for her story "Branching Out."
Janine DeBaise won first place for "Pachelbel's Canon in D" in the Anita Marie Boggs Memorial poetry category and third place for "I'm Just Here to do the Flowers" in the Della Crowder Miller poetry category.
Priscilla Berggren-Thomas earned second place honors in the Grace K. Wofford Essay category.
