CNY Branch of the NLAPW

Welcome New CNY Branch Member Sheila Myers

The Central New York (CNY) Branch of the NLAPW is pleased to welcome novelist, historical researcher, and educator Sheila Myers as a new member.

Myers is an award-winning author and college professor at Cayuga Community College in Upstate New York. She teaches natural science courses and coordinates the honors study program for the college. Myers has spent much of her adult life educating young adults in how to protect the natural world.

The author of numerous articles and short fiction, Myers is a meticulous researcher which led to the writing of her Gilded Age trilogy about the Durant family. Three novels in the family saga are Imaginary Brightness, Castles in the Air, and The Night is Done. Although based upon the lives of the very real Durant family who lived in both New York City and the Adirondack wilderness, Myers' historical fiction reads like a "Greek tragedy," according to Kirkus Reviews. She also wrote the novel Ephemeral Summer.

Myers website address is www.sheilamyers.com.
